Children’s Cancer Awareness Month

Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino and the Town Board joined with Philip Renna of the Christina Renna Foundation to recognize September 2021 as “National Children’s Cancer Awareness Month” in the Town of Oyster Bay. The Christina Renna Foundation was established in memory of Philip and Rene Renna’s daughter Christina, a Long Island teenager who died in January 2007 from a rare soft tissue cancer. The Foundation is dedicated to supporting children’s cancer research and furthering awareness and education through the support of cancer groups and outreach programs for those in need. After her diagnosis, Christina dreamt of a world entirely free of cancer, and the Christina Renna Foundation established in her name celebrates her life, her vision, and her lasting legacy.
