Bethpage HS named Scholar Athlete School of Distinction

Bethpage High School has been named a Scholar Athlete School of Distinction

Bethpage High School recently earned the 2021-22 Scholar-Athlete School of Distinction award from the New York State Public High School Athletic Association, Inc. It is among 86 schools from across the state to receive this prestigious honor.

To earn the School of Distinction Award, a school must have 100 percent of its varsity athletes qualify for and receive the scholar-athlete team award during their respective athletic seasons. Teams are presented with the scholar-athlete recognition if 75 percent of their roster has a GPA greater than or equal to 90. During the 2021-22 school year, Bethpage High School had its 30 teams reach this academic achievement, reinforcing the district’s strong commitment to not only athletics but to academic excellence.
